- First, check your Downloads or Exports folder in OneDrive/SharePoint.
- Keep Clipchamp in the foreground during processing.
- Close tabs and applications to free up memory.
- Delete only images and cached files, not all cookies.
After spending hours editing a project, you discover that Clipchamp does not export the video This can be especially frustrating. The progress bar might get stuck at 0%, remain frozen at the same percentage, reach the end without downloading anything, or generate a file that then won't play.
These problems don't usually mean you've lost the assembly. They're usually related to lack of memory or space, a corrupted file, browser extensions, graphics acceleration or the location where Clipchamp has saved the result.
Before modifying the project, it's best to follow the solutions in order and keep all the original videos, images, and audio. This way, you can relink them if Clipchamp prompts you to do so.
Check if the video has already been exported

If the progress bar finished but no download window appeared, first check the folder DownloadsClipchamp may have saved the video automatically without showing any obvious confirmation.
Also check the file size. If it's 0 KB or much smaller than expected, the export didn't complete correctly and you'll have to repeat it.
In professional or educational accounts, the result can be found in the folder Exports associated with the project in OneDrive or SharePoint. Projects in these accounts are usually organized using a file with the .clipchamp extension and two additional folders:
- Assets: It contains the videos, images, and audio used.
- Exports: It stores the generated MP4 videos.
If you used an integration to upload the video to YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, or another service, check that destination as well. When possible, also save a local copy.
Basic steps to unlock export

If Clipchamp gets stuck at 0% or doesn't start processing the video, try these steps first:
- Wait a few minutes if the project is long, uses many clips, or is being exported in high resolution.
- Keep Clipchamp in the foreground and don't switch tabs or windows.
- Close applications, tabs, and windows that you are not using.
- Check that there is enough free space on the destination drive.
- Update Clipchamp, Chrome or Edge, depending on the version you are using.
- Restart the application or browser and reopen the project.
- Try one lower resolution to check if the problem is related to the video size.
When Clipchamp runs in the background, the browser may reduce the resources allocated to the process. Therefore, it's important to leave the editor tab open until the progress bar reaches 100%.
If you're using the Windows app and the error persists, open the same project from Chrome or Edge. Personal accounts can access it from app.clipchamp.com, while work or school projects are typically opened from Microsoft 365, OneDrive, or SharePoint.
Check your browser and clear only the cache.

Clipchamp may malfunction when an extension interferes with the editor or when there are corrupted temporary files.
Try the following:
- Do not use Clipchamp in an incognito or InPrivate window.
- Temporarily disable ad blockers and other extensions.
- Delete the cached images and files from Chrome or Edge.
- Restart your browser after clearing the cache.
- Verify that Clipchamp has permission to download and open pop-up windows.
You don't need to delete all cookies, passwords, or login data. You also shouldn't delete the original files used in the assembly. After clearing the cache, Clipchamp might ask you to relocate some of those resources.
What to do if it always gets stuck at the same percentage
When the progress bar repeatedly stops at the same point, the problem is usually related to a video, image, audio track, transition, or effect located near that part of the montage.
For example, if the export always gets stuck at approximately 60%, check the items placed around 60% of the total project duration.
You can locate the problematic resource using this procedure:
- Create a copy of the project to preserve the original version intact.
- Locate on the timeline the area corresponding to the percentage of the block.
- Temporarily removes videos, audio, images, or effects located at that point.
- Repeat the export.
- If it works, add the items back one by one until you identify the cause.
- Convert or replace the file that is causing the error.
You can also split a copy of the project into several parts and export them separately. This allows you to quickly identify the faulty section without disassembling the entire project.
Compress or convert the problematic files

Very large videos, those recorded with unusual codecs, or those originating from certain mobile phones and cameras can cause problems during processing.
One possible solution is to Compress the video before importing it into ClipchampConvert a copy of the file to MP4 with a widely compatible codec and replace the original within the project.
Do not delete or overwrite the original file until you have verified that the new version works correctly.
This measure is especially useful when:
- The project uses large 4K videos.
- The export always gets blocked when it reaches a specific clip.
- A video plays with errors within the editor.
- The file comes from a camera, a drone, or an application that uses a less common codec.
- Clipchamp repeatedly asks you to relink the resource.
If the project is too large, you can also create multiple copies, keep a different section in each, and export them separately. Then you can combine the resulting videos into a new project.
Temporarily reduces output resolution
4K exports take longer and produce significantly larger files than 1080p or 720p exports. If Clipchamp crashes near the end, try exporting a copy at a lower resolution.
If the project completes successfully in 1080p, the problem may be related to memory consumption, available power, or storage space, and not necessarily to a corrupted file.
If you need to preserve UHD resolution, you can check out our guide for Export a Clipchamp video in 4KIt explains the compatible plans, the output format, and the requirements that should be checked.
Update your system and check your graphics acceleration.
Clipchamp uses the CPU, memory, and graphics card to process projects. An outdated graphics driver or incompatibility with hardware acceleration can cause exports to be very slow or fail to complete.
Follow this order:
- Install any pending Windows updates.
- Update your graphics card driver from Windows Update or from the manufacturer's official tool.
- Restart your computer.
- In Clipchamp for personal accounts, log in Settings > Export.
- Temporarily disable the Hardware acceleration and repeats the export.
Disabling this feature may slow down processing, but it can also resolve specific incompatibilities.
Manually enabling `chrome://flags/#ignore-gpu-blocklist` is not recommended. If you have previously modified Chrome or Edge flags, reset them to their default values and restart your browser.
Fix Clipchamp or Microsoft Edge

If the Clipchamp application installed on Windows continues to crash, close it completely and reopen it. You can also check that it has permission to save files to the selected folder.
If the problem occurs in both Clipchamp and Edge, you can repair the browser from:
- Open the Windows Configuration.
- Enter Applications > Installed applications.
- Locate Microsoft Edge.
- Open your options and select Modify or Repair, if it becomes available.
As an advanced check, you can temporarily disable a third-party antivirus program while keeping Windows' built-in protection active. Re-enable it after running the test.
If you've overclocked your processor, memory, or graphics card, temporarily revert the settings to their defaults. An unstable configuration can cause failure during a demanding task like video export.
What to do if the exported file does not play
Sometimes Clipchamp finishes the process, but the MP4 file appears corrupted or does not open correctly.
Check the following:
- Exports actually reached 100%.
- The file does not occupy 0 KB.
- The video plays with another media player.
- The file works after exporting it to a lower resolution.
- There are no damaged clips in the section where playback stops.
If the video keeps failing at the same point, go back to the project and replace the file used in that section. You can also convert it to MP4 beforehand and then import it again.
How to avoid losing the project while you solve the problem

Clipchamp automatically saves project changes, but that doesn't mean you can delete the original files. On personal accounts, the editor may still rely on videos, images, and audio stored on the computer.
Before clearing the cache, changing computers, or replacing resources:
- Keep all original files.
- Create a copy of the project before deleting items.
- Do not rename or move the files while you are troubleshooting the error.
- Keep a local copy of the exports that did work.
- Use content backup if it's included in your plan.
If none of these solutions work, try the project on another computer, taking all the original files with you. Work or school accounts can also contact their organization's Microsoft 365 administrator.
When Clipchamp fails to export, the most important thing is to identify when the problem occurs. If it doesn't start, check your browser and computer resources; if it always freezes at the same percentage, look for a problematic file; and if it finishes without displaying the video, check Downloads, OneDrive, or SharePoint before repeating the entire process.
